Or for 1), it could be 50- [the sum of abs(difference) divided by 2] - thus, in a 2-person match, the scoring would essentially be identical to a normal match.

Or should that be divided by n, where n is the number of contestants each match...? Not sure which would be more theoretically appropriate, so going by the simpler divided by 2, or not dividing by anything, would probably be better.

At any rate, I think it should be changed from what it is now, because 1) it makes the results per match more difficult to compare with a 'normal' match; and 2) it overweights matches with more characters.
