The last match will indeed count double - it will use the same scoring system as the rest of the Battle Royale, and not the normal Oracle scoring system.

This seems like an unnecessary adjustment to fudge a flawed scoring system, really. The last match should not be arbitrarily double weighted.

I don't see an advantage to that compared to the current suggestion, since it wouldn't change anybody's relative position in this contest. Maybe you're thinking it's going to factor into people's lifetime averages?

No, I wasn't thinking that. It's just much preferable to keep things easily comparable with what we've always had. And the current scoring system really makes no theoretical sense.

Since this isn't part of the regular contest, I don't see any drawback to score inflation, but there's a big advantage, which is that we can use the existing website code. ... However, my scoring system has the overwhelming advantage of being able to use the current website code - we wouldn't even be doing this if that weren't possible. =)

Well, alright then I guess. That is a big deal.

Still don't like the current system though...but, practical considerations must come first.
