Well, most people expected that both Ryu and Jill were stronger than Sora by a good margin. 40% on Squall looks a lot better than 33% on Aeris. In most people's minds, it was just a question of whether Ryu was stronger than Jill or not.
I'm still not sure why I picked Sora in my bracket. I think I assumed Jill overperformed, because Luigi = Jill didn't make sense to me. Too bad I missed Luigi/Yoshi and Mario/Crono, or I could have won a prize.
