The reason you're not getting many Top Fives is this: we have way more people competiting this year than ever. With 63 matches this year, odds are you're only gonna get maybe 3 Top Fives, and odds are pretty good you won't even get a #1 pick. I'm really lucky I got a top pick in the last contest, despite 31 matches...

Also, it's not that tons of people are doing incredible...the contest has just been pretty darn easy so far, and using 45-x rather than 45-2x for incorrect picks doesn't hurt, either. Maybe the contest is easy because people are starting to get a feel for things more than ever, though...who knows?
