I thought I had something good going here but I lost another whole point since I last checked this before going to sleep.

Seriously, Agent 47? Interesting result anyway...

Yeah, we can obviously see Morgoth's method is better here, as I was expecting. The formula will get destroyed whenever characters of significantly different strengths get blown out.

NewbHaste2's:
Samus - 43%
Frog - 22.75%
Axel - 22.75%
Kerrigan - 15.14%

It actually looks pretty good, unless you were expecting MP:C to do something massive.

As for Frog/Axel SFF... it looks like there wasn't much.

As I said, I usually like your numbers better than mine Haste but they're not relying on anything other than say common sense and instinct. I'd love to figure out a way to justify the thinking though!

And I'm not exactly surprised that mine are holding better in non-SFF matches, I already knew that my technique was going to be heavily affected by SFF (unlike creative's which in its construction implies some sort of "inherent SFF" by "reserving" sections of voters for the strongest character(s) if I could say that). It's always nice to see those comparaisons every day though!

Okay, continuing from last night, help me figure this out....

If you're able to give bonus points to the top 5 finishers, why can't you take penalty points away for picking the wrong order?

This is my first time in the Oracle, so I don't really know how the stats work.

You can ask anything and we'll do our best to answer as soon as possible. Bonus points are fossils of the early Oracle era (we're talking SC2k3 here) where solar thought it was a good idea to give bonus points to the Top 5 each day. By the end of the contest (or was the first week ever done?) it was generally agreed that it basically more or less rewarded luck which wasn't what was wanted. He kept them there, giving out a side "including Bonus points" rankings every few days. I've always kept them there as a tradition but never really bothered to add rankings including them since there didn't seem to be any demand for that...

As far as taking penalty points away, it's much (much much much) easier to just display bonus points if(rank<6) than ordering the result, then the predictions and writing situations for if(Char1 = CHar2){}elseif(Char 2 = Char 3){}elseif(Char 1 = Char 2 = Char 3){}elseif{}....

The change by itself would be possible but it would be awfully complicated to code and it would potentially slow down the loading times beyond reasonable measures on the more complicated pages...
