woo... good start for Ada... if it stays steady itll be a good start. Shame I missed the top 10 by a last minute change to my Samus pick, but Ada at 74.74 is looking solid if theres no huge change...

I'll take 35th easily. That's one of my better starts in the Nintendo versus fodder matches that always start these contests.

The lead from my favorite game finally makes the contest, but doesn't last too damn long.

Morgoth, could you possibly put a link to the current team standings on the main Oracle page? Whenever a new match starts I go to the page to look where the last match left me at, and it would be convenient to have a link to the team standings right there as well.

Well, my last thought when I left last night was "I wouldn't be surprised to see Ada tripling Jade when I wake up, but I don't want to go for broke on the second match". Dammit.

After a month and a half offseason, the contest and the Oracle Challenge are back in business! We follow the tradition of starting things off with a Ninteno character, this time Samus Aran, who was expected to put up huge numbers against Nidoran F. Samus easily quadrupled Nidoran, but didn't come close to matching the lofty expectations - could she be in trouble against the male bracket winner? We started the contest with 145 predictions, all for Samus. The consensus was Samus with 90.03% and the average score was 41.60.

Best Five Picks:
1) stingers135 - Samus Aran 82.16% (+49.69)
2) steve illumina - Samus Aran 82.30% (+49.55)
3) MegatokyoEd - Samus Aran 84.22% (+47.63)
4) daniel2424 - Samus Aran 84.24% (+47.61)
5) Jecht - Samus Aran 84.30% (+47.55)

Our first day leaderboard has some familiar faces; everyone here has competed in the Oracle Challenge before. Stingers135 makes the best prediction, scoring 49.69 points for his first ever top 5. Second is steve illumina, trying to recapture some of the magic he had last contest - we'll have to see if he can keep it up. Everyone else scored below 48 points. Megatokyo Ed, who first became known for an impressive run in the Villains Contest places third. Daniel2424, who's been around since the first Oracle Challenge but has never predicted all the matches, places fourth. Finally, Jecht, who first competed in the series contest, is fifth.

The top team of the day was the second last team to sig team to sign up for the challenge, Team Really Late Signup! ad00 and JayLv100 were the only team to combine for more than 90 points. Second was Team Fibonacci featuring Lagoona and ScorpionX3. Aprosenf and Ayvuir (Team AAA) took third. The Returners were fourth despite the fact that steve illumina outscored partner cyko by more than ten points. In fifth we have Team Illusion of Xenosaga with stingers and Dante, where stingers also outscored his partner by 10 points.
