No I'm not dead, I don't have much free time though. I finishedupdating my database with the SpC2k5 data, so you could expect updatedrecords and all-time standings, as well as the 45-x and 40-x requestsand a few other things coming up sooner or later. I'm getting two 3-dayweekends in a row too, I hope it can help...

Will you have time to handle the Summer Contest Oracle Challenge, King Morgoth?
Stop. Stealing. My. Punch. Lines =P
Wellwell well, with the nominations appearing (yeah, I noticed the CJaytopic 30 hours late, in GFAQs language that's OLD'OLD'OLD'OLD'D orsomething to that extent), there go my hopes of a late summer contest, and things need to get rolling...
SC2k5 Oracle Challenge Host Nominations
Wellwell, I'll make it official, after one year of too much GameFAQs andnot enough real life, I won't be able to run the Oracle Challenge thissummer. I'll be pleased to work in the background on thewebsite/records and such, but with a full-time internship that has meleave the house for 12 hours, 5 days a week, and a bunch of otherthings too, I can't be bothered to spend the daily time needed to runthis whole thing.
If you're interested, now's your chance. Sendme a 1000-word essay in which you display how you intend to have yourOracle implication solve the current world problems and achieve worldpeace. Really. Or simply display some interest here so I can figure outwho'll be able to run this thing smoothly. I'll contact the chosen hostto give him(/her?) appropriate spreadsheets and other things once thebrackets are open. Oh and by chosen I hope to get a general consensus instead of my personal opinion.
Ifyou have any questions, feel free to ask them here. Bonus points ifyour name is creativename (he helped solarshadow the first time(s)around), BeTheMan (he already showed interest in running a sidecontest, might want to do the real one instead) or Kaxon (I know hecan't run it but he deserves a mention for saving my ass countlesstimes...). Oh, or solarshadow obviously, if he wants it back =P
Ifyou're wondering, we're talking about roughly 60-90 minutes of workdaily, with the ~100 participants we've had in the last challenges...

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Starting this summer, we willhave a new host, Kaxon. I'll be staying around, working in thebackground on the website and a little on the database. We (mostly he)are also working on a few new ideas to help the Oracle run moresmoothly in the future, and require less work for the host.
Finally, bow down to creativename, for the Oracle Challenge Website has officially moved to its (I hope) final domain:

Cool. I look forward to it.
.I second that.
Andmaybe I'll run the prediction percentage challenge. Swirldude hadstarted it for the Spring Contest but then abandoned it. But I'd needsomeone to help me as I'll be on a 12 or so - day holiday trip duringthe contest (at least to bump the topic and maybe save the predictionsonce in a while, I'd do the whole excel stuff).

I'll take the liberty to answer that:
Maybe.I'll draw a few graphs, give impressions to Kaxon, it's a matter orwhether or not we want to penalize for getting the match wrong, and howmuch. Only time will tell, but you'll know soon...
.No reply to my post/comment/offer/request/whatever it was...?
I can't help about that, I'll be too busy.
I've decided to take part in this this year. So when do we start predicting the first match?
Pre-contest topic should be up soon (around the weekend) with all updated records, etc...
The first predictions topic wil be up at least 8 days before the first match, or sooner if we can get everything working.
