Not much to say, pretty busy around here, so nothing really gets done on the site :/
With some luck the next contest will be over before 2007

Anyway, opinions on the 45-x penalty, anyone? I think it's just fine...

It looked just fine. I hated the concept before the contest, but even I will have to admit that it worked out really really well. And everyone seemed to hate 45-2x so I think we have a winner!

I didn't hate 45-2x. I liked it a lot more than any of the 50-options.

Funny how if this contest was 45-2x, I'd do better while if it was 45-x in the previous ones, I'd do better... >_>

Bump just in case.

I think it should only apply to the final match. There really shouldn't be a penalty if you miss the winner up until that last match where everyone's already predicting 50-53% so not much is gonna change.

The only reason I think there needs to be some kind of penalty is because I'd hate getting 48 points on an extremely close match where I predicted the winner correctly and have a bunch of people who predicted the wrong character get more points because they hedged more than me.

Since we really have no idea how long it will be until the bracket is up and the contest starts, is there any way we could see what the final scores would have been if a 50-x would have been implemented through the contest? Or has that already been posted and I just missed it because I wasn't interested in it until now and/or it would be too much work.

I like 45-x. prevents mass hedging, and as said before, gives you a penalty for picking the wrong winner. Someone shouldnt get more points if they picked the wrong winner (unless in extremely bad predictions)

Anyway, opinions on the 45-x penalty, anyone?

I'm starting to miss the cruelty of 45-2x. I might advocate for a return of it depending on how the next Contest goes.

And curse you and your way of noticing things, Haste!!

45-x is good. There shouldn't be anything less lenient than that, though.

I'll try to find a way to get these out tomorrow night. Going to sleep now and I have a lot to do tomorrow, but I should have the time later on. It won't really be hard to do, I'll probably pull 45-2x too while I'm there...

I'm curious to see how we'll do the scores for the Battle Royale. IMHO we should just score for each character individually and divide by the number of characters in the battle. So, on the first day of the Royale we divide each person's total by 6; The second day, we divide by 5, and so forth...

I don't think the battle royale matches can be placed into the regular standings at all, other than the final.

Personally, I'm all for ignoring the Battle Royale for the main Oracle. There's really no way I can think of to accurately make any type of guess, so it would really just be a bunch of luck.

Also, my Top 10 finish streak is officially shot to hell. No way I'm doing good in this contest.

This seems impossible to give even close to accurate predictions. I think I'll be lucky to get a top 50 lol.

And yeah, I think it'd be best if we didn't count the battle royale. Its ridiculous to even predict the percentages for a 6 way match, much less find a way to score it.
