Match #46 Results
Kirby 47.69%
Luigi 52.31%

Luigi manages to pull off another surprising win, finally putting himself in the sweet sixteen for the first time in his contest career. His win over Zero gained him some supporters, but predictions were quite split - 67 for Luigi and 51 for Kirby. The consensus was Luigi with 50.65% and the average score was 44.18.

Best Five Picks:
1) Luster Soldier - Luigi 52.28% (+49.97)
2) ps2rulezzz - Luigi 52.24% (+49.93)
3) GoldSlime35 - Luigi 52.22% (+49.91)
4) Pats_Dynasty - Luigi 52.45% (+49.86)
5) Camden - Luigi 52.50% (+49.81)

Luster Soldier makes the best prediction of the day, scoring his first top five of the contest. Ps2rulezzz increases his average (slightly) with the the second best prediction, 49.93 points. The third best prediction belongs to series contest legend GoldSlime! Pats_Dynasty gets fourth, and Camden continues his push for seventh place with the fifth best prediction.

Current Leaderboard:
1) cyko - 2089.74
2) Draco1214 - 2084.21
3) Rodri316 - 2083.82
4) ps2rulezzz - 2083.04
5) PeaceOut64 - 2081.75

Holy leaderboard shakeup, Batman! Everyone on yesterday's leaderboard picked Kirby, while everyone in 6th - 9th picked Luigi. Cyko's big lead allows him to remain in first, but the entire rest of the leaderboard has been replaced. One-time leader Draco moves back up to second, Rodri moves into third, and ps2rulezzz and PeaceOut64 both make their first leaderboard appearance of the contest in fourth and fifth. All four of the new faces moved up exactly four spots from yesterday. Among our previous top 5, Kaxon is now in 6th, Salient in 7th, Aprosenf in 8th, and Karma Hunter in 10th.

Was looking through my predictions and saw bowser with 57%... I freaked out at first until I realized that was my first round pick... phew.

Yeah, that would have been a real disaster... >_> When you're dealing with Crono or any Kingdom Hearts characters, no comments should be made till at least afternoon. :)

Anyway, anyone that hasn't yet needs to go check out MegatokyoEd's average, seeing how it just passed the the leader's and all. I don't know whether to feel happy or sad for the guy.

Ouch. And it was a relatively easy match, too. Yoshi did a bit worse than expected on Riku, but it's almost certain he would have gotten the 43.29 points needed to be ahead now, had he predicted that match.

Auron can't even pull 60% in these first updates, he'll probably plummet with the night vote and fight to get back up all day.

I doubt he'll be in danger of losing, but he'll have no cakewalk that's for sure.

Match #47 Results
Crono 57.44%
Bowser 42.56%

Crono started out the match winning big, but Bowser was able to make it respectable with the day vote. However, the match still seemed to confirm that Bowser was overrated through his match with Snake last year. The consensus was Crono with 57.8% and the average score was 47.10. Crono had 118 predictions and Bowser had 1.

Best Five Picks:
1) Karma Hunter - Crono 57.42% (+49.98)
2) The_Lady_Ashe - Crono 57.41% (+49.97)
3) Salient - Crono 57.50% (+49.94)
3) Master Moltar - Crono 57.50% (+49.94)
5) JayLv100 - Crono 57.29% (+49.85)

Karma Hunter reverses his recent slide by making a great prediction today, scoring 49.98 points. If he keeps this up he'll be back in first in no time. This is his third top five of the contest. Newcomer Lady Ashe's second place score coincides with the early release of Final Fantasy XII - omg hax! Salient and Master Moltar tie for the third best pick, and JayLv100 gets the fifth best pick, his 6th top 5 this contest.

4) PeaceOut64 - 2130.81
5) Salient - 2129.39

Cyko stays in first for the 6th straight day, and Draco remains in second place today as well. Ps2rulezzz moves up one spot to third, looking for that top finish that has so far eluded him. PeaceOut64 moves up one spot to fourth, and Salient moves up two spots to fifth with his outstanding prediction. Former #3 Rodri dropped 8 spots by picking Crono to win with 67.22%.

MC 2006 = Frog 2005, Alucard 2006 = Alucard 2005 predicts this at 60.50%... that's about all I can think of. Alucard was certainly underrated then, but he really had to have dropped after what Auron did to him. But I expect the whole 4-pack to be stronger than this would suggest.

Dark Reversal (9:53:37 PM): Hey, this is Luster Soldier. I deleted a post in the Oracle Challenge topic (the one where you post predictions) because another user brought up the fact that the x-stats value I posted for Samus/Rikku may get added to the Oracle Challenge site. The x-stats value I posted for Samus/Rikku is about 1.4% below the original prediction I made for Samus. I wanted to make it clear that I'm not cheating. I would make a post about it on the topic but I'm out of posts to make for now and I am only allowed to have one account on the boards, so I have no way to make a post about it unless I use AIM. You should post this convo in the topic to let Kaxon know about this.

Deleted post explanation. So everyone (here) knows basically. And that's the AIM account in his profile so no big scoop or anything.

Match #48 Results
Auron 59.63%
Sub-Zero 40.37%

Sub-Zero managed to break 40% against Auron, either proving that he's noticeably stronger than Scorpion, or else showing the effect of the two recent Mortal Kombat releases. 116 people picked Auron to win the match, while 2 went with Sub-Zero for the upset. The consensus was Auron with 61.45% and the average score was 46.04.

Best Five Picks:
1) Yesmar - Auron 59.68% (+49.95)
2) Pats_Dynasty - Auron 59.56% (+49.93)
2) meche313 - Auron 59.70% (+49.93)
4) XIII is cool - Auron 59.83% (+49.80)
5) Luster Soldier - Auron 59.37% (+49.74)

Yesmar had the best prediction of the day, landing in the top 5 for the second time this contest. Pats_Dynasty and meche313 tied for second - this is the first top 5 of the contest for meche and the 4th for Pats_Dynasty. XIII is cool gets fourth, and Luster Soldier snipes Xuxon to take fifth place in the last minutes of the match.

5) Team Predestined Divination - 97.18 (creativename: +48.68 / Ngamer64: +48.50)

Team Random gets another team top score with 99.32 points (their last one came on day 44). We seem to have some very streaky teams at the moment - Team Happy Happyists gets their second top 2 in a row today, and they're followed by the still-hot Team Klonoa Alliance (three top 5's in four days). Team Dartboard gets the fourth best score, and the rampaging Team Predestined Divination gets their third top 5 in a row.

5) Team Predestined Divination (creativename / Ngamer64) - 4338.49

Team We Used To Be Good? remains in third today. Team Romanian Potato Soup moves up one spot to fourth, and the blazing hot Team Predestined Divination moves up two spots to enter the leaderboard at #5. That's weird, both tranny and now you thought it was me who warned Luster about the updater when I had nothing to do with it. I guess I must have commented on a similar situation before.

And seriously, how is that not the line that made you laugh? After voting in close matches with a good portion of 500 alts, and getting axed for it twice, I'd say it's pretty fitting he's only allowed one account. I didn't even know they could do that, to be honest.

I wanted to make it clear that I'm not cheating

That's akin to Bush saying I wanted to make it clear I'm not saying something stupid. Or a double-murderer going out on parole after 25 years and saying You know, I really wouldn't want to be breaking any rules. About as much credibility as a dwarf playing basketball. Except that could potentially be interesting.

How about you stop arguing for some time, just for fun. We're telling you it's a bad idea, we're not asking for you to try to argue about it. We're still doing this for free (hey, if you want to pay for our work, we'll gladly let you complain about it) and it's still a dictatorship. We're right, you're wrong, our judgement is absolute, and whether or not you agree is totally irrelevant. We're being overly nice allowing that little AIM stunt, and omg I couldn't call you I threw my phone on the highway to see what it does lol doesn't quite cut it. If you want to throw away your board privileges like you did, you're the only one responsible for it.

*sees the whole LS thing*

*steps aside*

And now let's celebrate! Two 2nd best predictions in a row for our team, and my first Top 5 prediction of this contest! Finally! (for the record, we were 44 points behind 10 matches ago, now we're 19 behind only)

In other notes, I'm doing fine on this match too, though not as hot as this last two days. Also, Camden has a somewhat below average pick. Let's see if we can turn around things tomorrow.

You're in a clique with Vlado and Inviso. That's the nerdy group in the school cafeteria that sits away from everybody else gossiping about the cool kids in whispers, except instead of whispers, it's AIM, and instead of the school cafeteria, it's the board 8 community. -- Shake

We're being overly nice allowing that little AIM stunt

Um...aren't we going a tad overboard here? :) I saw the post he deleted, it was just like he said. Mostly a 'no cheating to see here, move along...' type situation.

Tifa vs. Peach is tough to predict. I agree with my partner in that I suspect Tifa might underperform with certain pics that don't highlight her assets, so to speak. And Peach has a nostalgic pic too. She might overperform, though I hope Tifa does well.

(for the record, we were 44 points behind 10 matches ago, now we're 19 behind only)

We're we really that far back? I mainly just look at position and not point differential.

In other notes, I'm doing fine on this match too, though not as hot as this last two days. Also, Camden has a somewhat below average pick. Let's see if we can turn around things tomorrow.

A double whammy got me yesterday. Not only did Daylights Saving Time screw my clock up slightly, I was excited about the Cowboys scoring every five seconds in the fourth quarter and couldn't seem to stay on the computer long enough to get something in.

Now just need to surge ahead of Kaxon. That will teach him to wake sleeping giants!

Time for some extended leaderboards! We used to do these regularly before we added the team contest, but they got cut from the daily update because there was too much stuff in there after we added the team contest. Anyway, I'm going to bring them back here because they were always fun.

Spazer Division Extended Leaderboard
1. ad00 - 330.52
2. MegatokyoEd- 326.53
3. Ngamer64 - 325.16
4. Kaxon- 324.91
5. Layzerbeam - 323.37
6. Starion- 322.62
7. Ed Bellis- 320.98
8. Camden - 320.44
9. Rodri316 - 319.62
10. ps2rulezzz - 319.26

With the Samus/Rikku match, the Spazer Division is officially in the books, and ad00 wins it! There are some pretty strong competitors in this top 10.

Limit Division Extended Leaderboard
1. DSRage - 283.16
2. catldr24 - 282.72
3. Aprosenf - 280.86
4. raytan7585 - 280.34
5. Master Moltar- 280.05
6. PeaceOut64 - 279.33
7. Luster Soldier - 279.25
8. Ed Bellis- 278.92
9. Yesmar - 277.50
10. Rodri316 - 276.89

With one match to go in the Limit Division (today's), DSRage holds a narrow lead over catldr24. This top 10 is a lot more closely packed than the last one.

Triforce Division Extended Leaderboard
1. War13104 - 289.48
2. Rufus Shinra 18 - 289.42
3. DSRage - 284.81
4. ad00 - 284.40
5. Menji76 - 283.76
6. jonthomson - 283.74
7. Redtooth - 283.54
8. TheKnightOfNee - 283.14
9. KleenexTissue50 - 282.76
10. cyko - 281.79

War currently leads in the Triforce Division by the narrowest of margins over Rufus Shinra 18. This one looks like it's probably a two-horse race unless something surprising happens in Aeris/Zelda (which is certainly a possibility).

Aeon Division Extended Leaderboard
1. Aprosenf - 278.53
2. raytan7585 - 276.78
3. amyvitality66 - 276.63
4. The Real Truth - 276.36
5. cyko - 276.25
6. ad00 - 276.05
7. daniel2424 - 275.13
8. Xuxon - 274.63
9. Kaxon - 273.58
10. DragonsFury - 272.61

Now here's a close race! Aprosenf leads by almost two points, but the rest are packed like sardines - 2 through 6 are all within three quarters of a point of each other, and the entire top 10 is within 6 points of each other. Another interesting thing to watch here is the sibling rivalry between raytan (2nd) and amyvitality (3rd) - which one will emerge victorious?

Round 2 Extended Leaderboard
1. raytan7585 - 748.40
2. MegatokyoEd - 747.10
3. Javman162 - 745.68
4. PeaceOut64 - 745.60
5. Ngamer64 - 742.87
6. yoblazer33 - 741.54
7. ps2rulezzz - 740.76
8. creativename - 739.94
9. Weird Kirby Dude11 - 739.58
10. Salient - 738.79

Raytan was the top scorer in round 2! This is another leaderboard with a bunch of big names - spring 2005 phenom MegatokyoEd was second, followed by Javman162. Old timer and consistent performer PeaceOut64 was fourth, followed by "Mr. Potential", Ngamer. Yoblazer, the guy who always makes the final leaderboard in "that other contest" (CJayC's) was sixth. Ps2rulezzz, the guy with the amazing average was seventh, and creativename, the father of the xstats, was 8th. Weird Kirby Dude was 9th and current #5 in the standings Salient was tenth.

The other four divisions will come in a couple days.

Yeah... it looks like I'm going to get over 49 and a half points, and still go down a spot (to you). If Tifa gains another .01 per update you could be perfect, though.

Man, I'm thinking Aeris might have a chance now. Completely gut feeling, as nothing really points to it.
