Sweet, just realised I'm like king of the rejects. 10+ points clear of anyone who has missed a match.

Not only that, but your average is impressive for 18 matches. You'd be in second place if you got your average points on the day you missed :p

I just saw the pic for tomorrow and realized that, even though I haven't played in about a decade, I had convinced myself that it was going to be a picture of Prodigal Sorcerer in that match. I don't know what Tim actually is but it reminds me of Conan.

Match # 20 Results
Solid Snake 51.60%
Vivi Ornitier 25.96%
Albert Wesker 12.51%
Sackboy 9.93%

A relatively predictable match, aside from the fact that Wesker looked even more pathetic than expected. Snake cruised to victory but Vivi barely managed to escape the doubling.

Consensus:
Albert Wesker - 15.82%
Sackboy - 9.34%
Solid Snake - 50.65%
Vivi Ornitier - 24.45%

Best Five Picks:
1) Draco1214 - Sackboy 10.00% - Solid Snake 52.00% - Vivi 25.00% - Wesker 13.00% (+49.52)
2) Xuxon - Sackboy 9.22% - Solid Snake 52.55% - Vivi 25.01% - Wesker 13.22% (+49.17)
3) KingBartz - Sackboy 11.69% - Solid Snake 51.45% - Vivi 24.43% - Wesker 12.43% (+49.12)
4) yoblazer33 - Sackboy 10.00% - Solid Snake 52.00% - Vivi 24.00% - Wesker 14.00% (+49.02)
5) Metal Goomba - Sackboy 9.51% - Solid Snake 52.24% - Vivi 24.22% - Wesker 14.03% (+48.92)

Draco gets the top pick, an excellent 49.52 point prediction. Xuxon is up there in 2nd, getting his 28th lifetime top 5. KingBartz is third (first time in the top 5 this contest), followed by yoblazer and Metal Goomba.

3) MegatokyoEd - 943.42
4) PeaceOut64 - 943.37
5) smitelf - 942.15

WTF Camden in first?!? That's right, after years in 7th, 8th, or 9th place, Camden has finally broken through and claimed the top spot. Creativename is back up to second while MegatokyoEd drops to third. PeaceOut and smitelf stay where they are.

Top Team Scores:
1) Devil May GAME FUEL - 97.58 (Draco1214: +49.52 / Lopen: +48.06)

Draco gets first in individual and teams today, leading Team Devil May Game Fuel to the top along with his partner Lopen. Uncle Floaty's Wild Balloon Ride V2 (some of these names are crazy to type day after day) get second and Team 31 is third. Team Mother Cat is a Landmine gets their third top 5 in a row, and Team True Heroes of the 3 Challenges gets their 5th top 5 of the contest.

Complete Team Match Ranking:

Not only that, but your average is impressive for 18 matches. You'd be in second place if you got your average points on the day you missed :p

The match I missed was the first one with Zack and Wario in so I highly doubt I'd have gotten anywhere near my average. I'd be top 17 or whatever though I reckon so I should totally be put on your chart thingy :P

Wagh...I don't suppose it'd be possible to count my prediction even though it came in just after 11:55? >_> The first post was at 11:55:40-something, but then of course I was typing so quickly I ended up having to post it again half a minute later with the correct spelling of Chris' name...

I've decided to win this one to offset the year I missed a match and finished 50th or so. It's too bad my actual bracket isn't sharing in the love, though. It's going to explode down the guru in no time once the second round starts.

Match # 21 Results
Sora 39.14%
Fox McCloud 30.46%
Chris Redfield 23.84%
Tim 6.57%

Things went more or less as expected today, aside from Chris (the guy who lost to Pyramid Head) doing better than expected and Tim turning in one of the most pathetic performances of the contest so far.

Consensus:
Chris Redfield - 17.70%
Fox McCloud - 33.84%
Sora - 38.44%
Tim - 9.91%

Best Five Picks:
1) neonreaper - Chris 23.00% - Fox McCloud 30.00% - Sora 40.00% - Tim 7.00% (+49.35)
2) __Smurf__ - Chris 24.00% - Fox McCloud 30.00% - Sora 38.00% - Tim 8.00% (+49.20)
3) SenpaiDessus - Chris 24.00% - Fox McCloud 31.00% - Sora 37.00% - Tim 8.00% (+48.93)
4) DarkLink89 - Chris 24.84% - Fox McCloud 30.79% - Sora 36.47% - Tim 7.90% (+48.66)
5) blindhobo13 - Chris 25.15% - Fox McCloud 29.65% - Sora 36.74% - Tim 8.46% (+48.39)

Neon is the top scorer today... Luster better watch out or Neon's going to overtake him! Smurf gets second, while Pianist tries to start a comeback by placing third today. DarkLink89 gets into the top 5 for the first time this contest (9 previous) and blindhobo gets his first ever top 5.

Complete Match Ranking:

3) PeaceOut64 - 989.65
4) kawaiifan - 989.54
5) MegatokyoEd - 988.93

Camden enjoys his second day at the top! Creativename is trying to close the gap, but he didn't quite make it, and still trails by 0.07 (*spy music plays in the background*). PeaceOut64 moves up one and kawaiifan moves up two, pushing MegatokyoEd down to 5th and smitelf to 6th.

Team Elderly Excellence gets the best score today thanks to neon, for their third top 5 of the contest. Team Palace of Wisdom continues their pattern of being second every other day. Team Pornographique continues to surprise and excite its fans with a third place showing (five top 5s so far this contest). Team B8OraclePredixGods takes 4th and Team SPO*N manages to pick up their 2nd top five of the contest, after getting considerably more in the previous contests.

10th for the day again? Think that's either 3 or 4 this year, just can't manage to get that little bit more to get a top 5.

I would have had to have had close to the most 6-10th placings last year as well, should get a stat for most "Next Top 5's" added I reckon! I'd probably be close to the top in both (but falling back in the top 5 category).

Match # 22 Results
Squall Leonhart 45.06%
Yoshi 32.82%
CATS 15.25%
Nathan Drake 6.87%

I just have to point out that today CATS doubled someone. All Nathan's vote are belong to CATS. Move 'fodder'. For great justice.

Consensus:
CATS - 13.77%
Nathan Drake - 10.56%
Squall Leonhart - 39.83%
Yoshi - 36.00%

Best Five Picks:
1) yoblazer33 - CATS 14.00% - Nathan 7.00% - Squall 43.00% - Yoshi 35.00% (+48.59)
2) War13104 - CATS 12.44% - Nathan 7.32% - Squall 44.82% - Yoshi 35.43% (+48.47)
3) Xuxon - CATS 13.37% - Nathan 6.99% - Squall 43.82% - Yoshi 35.82% (+48.44)
4) neonreaper - CATS 12.00% - Nathan 8.00% - Squall 45.00% - Yoshi 35.00% (+48.34)
5) red sox 777 - CATS 12.00% - Nathan 9.00% - Squall 44.00% - Yoshi 35.00% (+47.84)
5) Dranze - CATS 13.00% - Nathan 8.00% - Squall 43.00% - Yoshi 36.00% (+47.84)

Yoblazer strikes again! He gets his 3rd top 5 of the contest. War was second followed by Xuxon and neonreaper, who's in the top 5 for the second day in a row. Red sox 777 and Mario Superstar (nee Dranze) tie for fifth - this is red sox 777's 30th career top 5.

3) PeaceOut64 - 1037.14
4) Xuxon - 1036.07
5) kawaiifan - 1035.88

Shakeup!! The top 3 are still the same, but below that this match unleashed an earthquake on the standings. Xuxon looks ready to make a run at a 3rd Oracle title after climbing 6 spots today to fourth place. Kawaiifan drops one spot to 5th. Right below her is yoblazer, moving up 8 spots due to his top pick for the day.

5) Carvey Elite imho - 93.96 (Team Rocket Elite: +46.34 / Xcarvengerx: +47.62)

Team 31 is up there again - I guess teams with former champions on them tend to do well, who knew. Team Xenosaga and Final Fantasy VI are way better than any crappy games you enjoy (War and stingers) provide some fresh faces in the team top 5 for once - this is their first team top 5 of the contest. Team Elderly Excellence is in the top 5 again for the second day in a row, while Team Mother Cat is a Landmine is there for the 4th time in five days. it's because squall and cats both finished above nearly everyone's expectations, while yoshi and nate finished below them. basically everyone whose squall + cats = 53% scored the same 46.34 points. with most people not getting more precise than half points, and there being many reasonable ways to get that sum, it leads to that very large tie.

whew! finally in the top 5 after 5 straight days of good picks. despite winning two contests before, this is the earliest in a contest i've come this close to the lead. feelin' pretty good now.

This has been my laziest contest yet. I just go into a topic at about 8 PM before the next match, look at the last 5-10 posts in the topic, and just ballpark in that area. I haven't even thought for myself yet. I mean god, such a boring contest, I can't be the only one doing that now.

Though I get the feeling admitting to that isn't a good thing. Oh well.

Another bad prediction. I went from having three or four great predictions in a row to four pretty bad ones. Overestimated Ness quite a bit

I did the same thing too. Also underestimated Travis, unless he ends up falling during the late night and in the day. I underestimated Mewtwo since I've started recently predicting on the lower side for Nintendo characters, since they seem to be underperforming this year. Mewtwo is actually overperforming, leading me to believe that the Brawl de-boost is real (Ness is in Brawl, but not Mewtwo). So I plan on play safe on the Kirby match.

At least I got another team top 5 today. Second place for the third time (out of 4 team top 5's so far).

Match # 23 Results
Cloud Strife 59.80%
Midna 20.37%
Miles Edgeworth 12.27%
Axel Steel 7.56%

Cloud destroys the competition here with the second biggest blowout of the round, although he doesn't quite manage to break 60% or match Link here. Midna redeems herself somewhat from her pathetic rookie year, while Axel Steel sets a new record for patheticness by a 10M+ selling character (beating out some GTA character as the former record holder, no doubt.)

Consensus:
Axel Steel - 11.39%
Cloud Strife - 59.13%
Midna - 18.00%
Miles Edgeworth - 11.48%

Best Five Picks:
1) Team Rocket Elite - Axel Steel 9.00% - Cloud Strife 59.00% - Edgeworth 12.00% - Midna 20.00% (+49.28)
2) Lagoona - Axel Steel 10.00% - Cloud Strife 60.00% - Edgeworth 10.00% - Midna 20.00% (+48.68)
2) Iubaris - Axel Steel 9.00% - Cloud Strife 61.00% - Edgeworth 11.00% - Midna 19.00% (+48.68)
4) CasanovaZelos - Axel Steel 10.06% - Cloud Strife 57.32% - Edgeworth 12.50% - Midna 20.12% (+48.63)
5) Ghost Cyborg - Axel Steel 10.50% - Cloud Strife 59.50% - Edgeworth 11.50% - Midna 18.50% (+48.53)

TRE is back! The board 8 legend gets the top score today, his 25th lifetime top 5. Another Oracle vet, Lagoona, takes second, followed by Iubaris, CasanovaZelos, and Ghost Cyborg.

PD back into the Top Five?

You won't pass my team so easily. Your team must gain almost 3 points of ground just to pass my team. I already learned my lesson from yesterday's match that Nintendo overall is not underperforming, but mainly Brawl characters underperforming. I had predicted low on Midna, thinking she would underperform. Turned out it wasn't the case and she performance around or above what she did from last year. So now am trying to step up my game a bit and I encouraged my partner kawaiifan to step up her game too.

Oh, crap. I just realized I'm not on the list of predictions for yesterday's match because I didn't put in the full names of the characters (like, "Cloud" instead of "Cloud Strife"). I did the same thing for mammerjammer. Sorry - I didn't realize it had to be that way, and I did the same thing for today's match.

Don't worry Ed, it still counts. We had a technical problem with people putting "Axel" for Axel Steel because there's another character named Axel and name-deciphering code prioritizes exact matches over partial matches. So now I have to go in and fix those predictions by hand.

Predictions seem all over the place for tomorrow's match. Think there's going to be some shakeup no matter what happens.

Correct, and 3 points isn't a breeze to get either. There's gaps between 2 and 3 and between 4 and 5, then 5 thru 8 are all vaguely clustered.

7.5 points is going to be tough for us to make up even with most of the contest to go, but certainly doable. There's always lots of chaos in these contests. While the top 4 are the favorites for the team title right now, I'd say the top 8 all have some sort of realistic shot.

Oh my god. Today's is just BRUTAL.

Mine is 45 or below >_<

But It's gonna be worse for people who completely overshot Ness. But I undershot Travis completely and that's gonna damage me badly.
