The match results for the polls in the character contests are radically different than the series contest. In the series contest, there were tons of 80%+ blowouts. Even the first match barely got above 81%. Then again, Civilization wasn't a joke nomination that lucked out and ended up in the last contest. Nidoran F was a clear joke nomination so it would have been easier for Nidoran F to receive more support than Civilization.
