Justto tell you early, I'm going to be on a trip from May 7th to May 18th,and I probably won't be online at all during this time. That means I'llbe leaving the morning of Lavos vs. Mother Brain, and will be back inthe late evening for Ocelot/Nemesis vs. Wily/Ultros. Would it be okayif I made a predictions for the first 2 divisions of Round 2 (to besafe)? I figure you'll have predictions open for Round 1 of the Ruinand Triforce divisions before the 7th. (gee, I hope =p)

Asmuch as possible (and it's much harder with only 32 characters), I trymy best to always have the next 8-16 matches open for predictions.Predictions for the rest of Round 1 should be open May 1st, and Haste, you may post for as many matches as you need to if you're going to beaway. Having only a few matches open is to reduce the amount ofchanges, and you won't be changing those predictions =P

And forthose who might care, I've made a list of the 10 biggest contenders tothe title for this year, with previous results, comments and otherthings. #10-6 will be posted tonight and #5-1 will be posted on the30th.

"Hey come on guys, catch me if you can!"

Alright,11 contestants. My bias will stop here I promise. 38 straight days inthe lead. Does anything else need to be said about him? He holds 4solid achievements, and 3 records, one of which will quite probablynever be broken. Got his SpC2k4 title stolen right under his nose whenStarcraft failed to roll over and die against Wind Waker. He was in 2ndplace in SC2k4 when he was abducted be aliens and disappeared from thecontest scene.

"Do I really look like I'll settle for second place?"

Kaxonkept a pretty high average in the 14 matches he predicted in SpC2k4,and he showed it wasn't a fluke with his incredible performance inSC2k4. He entered the leaderboard on day 4 and never left, spending 50days in the Overall Top 3. Gambled his 2nd place on Cloud in the lastmatch, payed the price by dropping down to 4th. Will he show hisstrength again or was 2004 his lucky year?

*casts Sora-factor on self*. "This contest's easy!"

Withan ever-increasing average, Rodri316 is in for a good fight this year.In SpC2k4 he pulled out one of the biggest moves in all Oracle historyby predicting Sora's solid victory, grabbing both the lead and 25points over all the previous leaders at once. His Solid Snake-bias washis downfall, but he is nonetheless to be considered as a strongcandidate to the title. One of 8 contestants with 3 Top 30 finishes.

Status: Missing

Oneof 3 contestants with 3 Top 20 finishes. One of 5 contestants whopredicted every single 157 Oracle match. Despite never appearing on theleaderboard and rarely pulling out incredible calls (8 Top 5's and asingle win), he has shown throughout the years that he is a very stableand strong contestant. Finishing in the Top 20 contest after contestafter contest is something very few could pull, and he did so withouttoo much trouble. If he comes back, he's an obvious contender to thetitle.

"Thepopularity of each contestant can be treated as a statistical process, based on realizations of uniform random variables with a certain mean."

Fatherof the Extrapolated Standings and one of the (if not the) most regularcontestants on the Challenge. As consistency is the key to winning, heis always to be feared as a strong opponent. After a 9th place inSpC2k4, he dropped to 13th in SC2k4. Games seem to favor him more thancharacters, but is this the year of his comeback?

"If kawaiifan wasn't there I'd be the Oracle queen, dammit!"

Aftera very strong showing in SpC2k4, Alanna dropped to 10th in SC2k4. She'sone of only 6 contestants to place twice in the Overall Top 10, and shegrabbed 11 Top 5 predictions despite missing a contest. She placedextremely well in the unpredictable SpC2k4 contest, will she do itagain this time?

Hm...why did you rank bananaquest so low? He was in only one contest, but being so incredibly DOMINANT in it, and was doing equally as wellin the Summer Contest. Then again, only in one complete contest...yeah,I understand. If we get really serious here, we might as well get guyslike Samberdog in the Top 10 as well. Though, I do think bananaquestwas the #1 Oracle Challenge participant. (with King Morgoth very closebehind)

Therest of the top 5 will be, um...kawaiifan, Ngamer64, Morgoth, myself,and...(sorry I didn't think of you instantly )...oh, yes, ps2rulezzz.Can't forget the guy with the great skill, yet the horrid luck. :P

He's that low because it can't beproven he wasn't a fluke (though we both know he wasn't), and I'vetalked to him a few times (back then) and he really doesn't seem to becoming back, therefore he's not one the strongest contenders to thetitle this time around. But if he were to come back, I'd be frightenedand I'd hide in a corner =P. Oh and thanks for the compliment!

Thanks. Ranking by average is on my to-do listactually, right after Bonus Points rankings, and right before "makingthat website work". Actually they might already be done somewhere, butsince last contest, I've had a total computer crash, a HD-failure and anew computer, so everything is spread out over 2 HDs and a few CDs.Things should be sorted out by the end of the contest though.

Ifhe hadn't missed any match, he would have finished 3rd in SC2k3, 8th inSpC2k4 and 5th in SC2k4. His record his frightening, yet his potentialrecord is astonishing. "Time to show them I'm not an old star on his decline..."

Thefirst of our three previous winners. One of only 2 contestants withthree Top 10 finishes. Add a record, 7 achievements and anaverage/match that has always been over 43 points, and you've got onehell of a competitor. He has shown everyone he could pull out wins andbe consistent. He couldn't seem to pull out that SC2k3-magic-touch lastyear, will he finally rebound or is he slowly fading away?

"Starcraft over Wind Waker with 50.02%...*gulp*"

Aftera lackluster performance in 2003, Morgoth has been the highest scoringplayer of 2004, grabbing a title and a 2nd place on the way. One ofonly 2 contestants with 2 Top 5 finishes, his records and achievementscan't be ignored. He also pulled off arguably the biggest gamble in allOracle history by backing Starcraft against Wind Waker in SpC2k4. In amove most qualified of just wrong and that was later described by solarshadow as a bold and daring move and by Morgoth himself as a suicide attempt that went wrong in every conceivable way,he jumped to the top and overtook Bananaquest's throne for the SpC2k4title. He couldn't fight against kawaiifan in SC2k4 and had to settlefor 2nd place. It's now time to prove that he can pull off miraclesagain...

Atthe top of our list, as many could expect, the Oracle Queen herself, kawaiifan. One of the 5 contestants who have predicted every match inOracle history, only contestant to end thrice in the Overall Top 5 anddefending champion. Not only is her record astonishing, but she hasshown a growing strength over the past contests! Second strongestcontestant of 2004, kawaiifan has found a way to climb to the topwithout pulling out lucky shots (only 2 wins) and she's doing itextremely well. She has shown total control over everything and is oneof the few contestants who never makes huge mistakes. She is not only astrong contender for the title the year, she is the woman to beat!

That's because you take so many chances. =P It'stough to be accurate all the time with them, but the payoff can bepretty big at times...and hey, apparently taking chances works betterfor the Prediction Percentage Challenge.

I'm...on the decline?No. =P Everyone just sucked back in 2K3, and I should've placed 3rd,anyway. Besides, I improved from Sp2K4 to SC2K4.

If you ever need to post more picks in advance because you won't be there, simply say so, it shouldn't be a problem.

Youhad a great bio all around =P, and we've got to have ourstar-on-the-decline-making-a-comeback guy here. As long as it makes youkick even more ass this time around, it's better for everyone!

Onother news, hopefully the new Oracle website will be up tonight, andthe topic for the rest of Round 1 will be up sometime tomorrow.

I respectfully withdraw my entry for Vergil/Ghaleon and respectfully replace it with a respectful prediction of Vergil with 56.33%, which, if you ask me, is quite a respectable victory for such a character.

With respect,
