With all the pikaness jazz currently happening, I have a query. What happens if someone's post is deleted by a moderator, before or after a match starts? Has it ever happened?

I've wondered about that myself. If you post an obvious violation, it will probably get modded before the prediction could be added. A borderline violation has the possible chance of being overlooked as a violation when it's put into the queue. And you could always mark your own message with a different account of yours.

Don't get modded, it'll make our lives easier =P
I remember it happening once, but not in an ambiguous situation (post was made and deleted on the same day). Players are individually responsible for the TOS-friendlyness of their posts.
It's kinda like cheating, we never expect/expected it to happen, so we don't have a plan for it. It'll be at our own discretion, based on the situation.

What if, hypothetically our post is deleted BUT we have SS that shows what it is.

I know I'm dealing in "what ifs" but this problem can be solved for those that don't read the rules.

It could be deleted for even something as simple as a sig wipe and not someone trying to cheat. (I seem to remember that happening in some contest the Icon was in. The sig about Link and Fairy and something like that)

you guys are really reaching for a way to bypass the rules here. no one is going to get modded for putting "Chun Li with 385748547894%" unless you're going out of your way to do so.

It's going to blow past 68.76

I predict that it is at 68.76 by... 8:45

Lol I'm kinda hoping that the percentage drop slows down and stalls later on, that should put me almost spot on.

unless you're going out of your way to do so.

That's the idea... you go out of your way to do make a moddable post (say just for that one post you put some offensive link in your sig) and then mark it with an alt after you see your other one was better.

Sure it's stretching it, but I've seen crazier schemes.

This is mainly what I was talking about. The first contest I was in I deleted one of my posts because a friend over AIM noticed that my new sig had a censor bypass in it. I explained in my next post why I deleted it and got a "just don't do it again" response because the match had yet to start, but I can imagine the dilemma if I hadn't noticed.

Actual Top 5's / Expected Top 5's ; simple as that...anything above 1 is over average.
***
What if, hypothetically our post is deleted BUT we have SS that shows what it is.
I can fake screenshots with friggin' Paint you know... Screenshots are out, too easy to fake, etc... How would you have a screenshot of your post if you didn't intend to have it deleted anyway? =P
***
I know I'm dealing in "what ifs" but this problem can be solved for those that don't read the rules.
What if the topic is modded for being Off-Topic? What if the board is down? What if Gordon does win and the Universe implodes?
We'll deal with probably-impossible-but-technically-possible-no-more-than-once-over-the-next-ten-years problems as they arise.
There's no reason to get modded in here, seriously.
***
It could be deleted for even something as simple as a sig wipe and not someone trying to cheat. (I seem to remember that happening in some contest the Icon was in. The sig about Link and Fairy and something like that)
OMG the evil mods are at it again! Seriously, I've got a whole ONE moderation in over five years, "Link with 65.43%" won't get modded, and since you're talking about a sig wipe, I'd say that would be your fault. If you break the TOS in your sig, you break the TOS in your post, you deal with the consequences. If you absolutely need to flame someone in the topic, do it in the early hours of the morning, you'll have plenty of time to make another prediction once you've been modded =P
***

Sure it's stretching it, but I've seen crazier schemes.

We won't hesitate to go out of our way to ban someone who's voluntarily taking advantage of a feature of the board to cheat, but I think people have noticed...
***

I explained in my next post why I deleted it and got a "just don't do it again" response because the match had yet to start, but I can imagine the dilemma if I hadn't noticed.
If you play baseball with your friends and break a window, you're responsible even if you didn't intend to break it. Same thing applies here. But obviously, like the grumpy old man who's window you broke, we'll bite a lot more if there was a malicious intent behind it.
***
Obviously, we still reserve the right to change our mind, be wrong and/or disagree with you. We're trying to trust people and allow them to make mistakes. And people who have been with us over the past two years know we've been pretty lenient when honest and accidental mistakes were made.

for the top contenders' updated picks:

1) DSRage 700.79 0.00 67.03%
2) ad00 698.28 -2.51 70.70%
3) Aprosenf 693.90 -6.89 70.54%
4) cyko 693.38 -7.41 71.28%
5) Draco1214 691.00 -9.79 70.00%
6) Ngamer64 690.89 -9.90 63.71%
7) Luster Soldier 690.56 -10.23 68.07%
8) Ness26 689.43 -11.36 67.22%
9) Kaxon 689.40 -11.39 72.22%

Aprosenf is right. if Lara stays above my pick, i should squeak into third. and DSRage and ad00 are looking to exchange spots again. the Top 4 is going to get much tighter. it also looks like the great Kaxon could make a run at the Top 5 again!!

Good work on those numbers cyko...

Sad part is... my original pick was 76.76%

Kinda annoys me, Ive lost major points in the past 5 matches because of last minute changes (Aeris, Yuna, and now Lara most notably... combined id have at least another 10 points... I need to go with my gut more often rather than letting the fanbase arguments influence me... After all I'm the one that's on top with DSR not the others ;))

As for me, I was influenced by Gordon Freeman's respectable loss to Leon Kennedy too much. I figured even though Alyx looked generic, I excused myself for her not being oober fodder because Gordon looks generic and managed to be okay lately. >.<

Snake tends to drop in percentage between the poll's start and the poll's end, but considering this is a Castlevania character, I'm not so sure about that.
