so pikaness accidentally deleted a prediction. Why disqualify her for cheating. Use her previous prediction! Duh.

Its not fair to disqualify her. Pikaness, I am on your side.

How is deleting a prediction cheating?

so just use what the prediction was anyway.

Its not fair to her to disqualfy her. I'm sure it was an accident. Let Pikaness explain herself. I havent been around but Pikaness is a nice girl. Its not fair to disqualify her for an accidental deletion.

Some people forget the rules you know. and you cant change after the match starts anyway.

Alanna, explain how you ACCIDENTALLY delete a prediction after the match starts, and when pika all-but admitted to have done it on purpose.

i saw her pick right after the match had started and it was around 66.??% i think it's a shame that our current leader would resort to cheating.

It was 67.92%. I told DS that I deleted my post and he told me that it was against the rules. Sorry ;_;

She obviously didnt know it was against the rules. She even reposted it and said she didnt KNOW. DS TOLD her. She said she was sorry. Its not fair to disqualify her because of something she didnt know. Just use this pick.

She didn't know the rules, even though it was in bold. It's like saying, "Oh, I didn't know that was a law, so I should be counted innocent."

Ignorance =/= Innocence

I'm not saying pika is a bad person, but when you break the rules, there are consequences. You have to accept that. If rule breaking is never punished, everyone will start breaking the rules.

I think it's terrible that Pika was disqualified because for so little. I'm sure she didn't mean it maliciously and hasn't been slowly altering her predictions all contest in order to put herself ahead. But just because she "only did it once" and "didn't know the rules" doesn't excuse the behavior. Pleading ignorance should not and does not remove responsibility.

Personally, and for what little it's worth, I'll forgive her behavior and think no less of her. Just a mistake she shouldn't have made, but one that most end up doing at some point in their lives. I do, however, completely support KM/Kaxon's banning of her from the contest. She did cheat in their contest with the rules clearly stated. They are fully in their right to do as they see fit.

*/secretly wonders how often this will pop up throughout this and future contests*

Wow. Well, I don't like doing this, but it seems like a clear case of cheating to me. Pikaness is disqualified from the contest. I'm not deleting her first twelve predictions, since she was in first place fair and square up until then (as far as I know). But she's out for the rest of the contest. This is pretty unfortunate since she was in first place, but we can't tolerate cheating. She can join again next year if she's willing to play fair.

Just to make it official, anyone else caught cheating will be disqualified as well.

Wow! That's too harsh for her, Kaxon. =(

I've decided I'll become the unofficial pick inspector. I will make sure there are no deletions and that all changes that have a typo, such as mispelling or forgetting the percentage sign, DO count regardless. You will now be eternally grateful to me. Maybe this is not needed, but we need back-up, anyway!

Because, really, see this example...

Person 1:
CHANGE: Nidoarn F with 95%

Person 2:
CHANGE: Nidoran F with 82

As you can see, Person 2 will want to point out the change, but Person 1 will pretend like he never changed...

Wow, I can't believe so many people are so easy to let her off here. Even not knowing the official rules, changing a prediction after already seeing the early result of a match is blatantly underhanded. There's just no way anyone could see that as being "fair" or "OK", so I just can't have any sympathy whatsoever for her.

Also this pikaness thing is getting off hand. I'll just put my two cents but it's not like I'm against any opinion or decision taken so far.

In my mind, what Pikaness did is cheating and was pretty obvious. Alanna, you can say everything about she made a mistake and maybe she didn't read the rules, but as someone already said, it's your job for you to read the rules before participating on any contest. Also, it's even worst when that rule in particular is in BOLD.

But let's say she just didn't knew. That non-sense is something I can't accept. Why would should she delete her post anyway? And why after the match had started, knowing her other pick was better than the one she deleted, she would decide to delete? A bit of coincidence around here, don't you think? Open your eyes.

That's only my opinion though.
