Looks like I'll be in 4th again, with Kaxon getting even nearer and the ones atop going further away...

Afraid to touch my Yoshi pick. Seems low, but I figure I'd adjust for KH2, and for the fact Riku nearly beat Frog.

Not knowing where lolx is? For shame!

thengamer.com/xstats

And yes, based on their performances last year, this was supposed to end

Tidus (2005c) VS Squall (2005c)

Tidus has a strength of 29.63.
Squall has a strength of 35.16.

Squall wins with 57.86% of the vote!
A win of 14,597 with 92,812 total votes cast.

Which points to...

- Kirby overperformed on Bowser for some reason, helping Tidus look better than he was

- Bowser overperformed on Snake with pic factor, again helping Tidus

- the post-FF7 FF crowd prefers Squall to Tidus, introducing some SFF

- a guy who gets a pic of himself looking hard and brandishing a huge sword is going to overperform against a swordless, feminine-looking opponent

Here another example of how you can play around with lolx. Just for fun, let's assume that all 4 of my previous points were wrong. The 2005 Tidus value was completely legit, and these current results are likewise a legitimate representation of Squall/Tidus strengths. Then compare

Squall Leonhart 73.03% 5770
Tidus 26.97% 2131
TOTAL VOTES 7901

Against what Link would have been expected to put up on this same Tidus last year.

Link (2005c) VS Tidus (2005c)

Link has a strength of 54.56.
Tidus has a strength of 29.63.

Link wins with 72.85% of the vote!

Regarding the contest getting harder, I don't think it has much if anything to do with people getting better at predicting. It's simply that there are more competitors.

Well, I was ALMOST best of the people that have missed one match, today is going to hurt a lot though. Went low with my prediction hoping for a close match, but this is a bit of a surprise to see such a huge gap. Maybe because KH2 is released in Europe today? Who knows. Knew this was a tough match to call.

If my calculations were right, I should only move one spot at the end of the day, but it's not any spot, it's a spot to the Top 15!

Also, the best pick in the Top 25 was made by KleenexTissue, which should jump to 14th (6 spots) with a 65% prediction.

Ness and Layzerbeam will be falling from the Top 15 for now.
