I can't fathom Leon doing better than Ryu, but that seems to be what's happening...

I was kind of thinking the same thing. However, Jill Valentine got 27% on Link a few years...I think that really showed that Resident Evil characters indeed have potential. Then, with RE4 being such a big hit and a respected game, not to mention Leon is rather high on the badness factor, Leon being above Ryu isn't too hard to swallow.

I predicted 61% for Leon...my partner Dekar predicted 56/57%, though, so it looks like we'll be in the Top 5 Team Predictions today.

I'm not really sure why Leon is so strong and Bowser is so weak...

Well, realistically, RE4's fanbase has literally doubled since last contest... there's not too much you can say about Bowser at this point, except everyone kind of knew he was a bit overrated in last years stats, and he doesn't exactly have the most vote-drawing pic today...

Yeah, but that's the same Leon that although he did pretty good on Mega Man, allowed Gordon Freeman to break 40% like all his other matches before this contest. Unless that means...Gordon can break 40% on Sora? Hmm....

Still, I expected a better showing from the Koopa King.

Match #30 Results
Bowser 55.45%
Leon Kennedy 44.55%

Leon manages to put up a very impressive performance on Bowser, making Bowser's upset chances against Crono look that much less likely. The consensus was Bowser with 63.44%, leading to an average score of 41.98 points. All 128 predictions were for Bowser.

Best Five Picks:
1) OmegaRagnarok - Bowser 55.00% (+49.55)
1) AlecTrevelyan006 - Bowser 55.00% (+49.55)
3) Ayvuir - Bowser 54.92% (+49.47)
4) Heroic Viktor - Bowser 54.83% (+49.38)
5) Dekar TKB - Bowser 56.82% (+48.63)

The top 5 was a little lower scoring than usual today, since Bowser fell so far below expectations. OmegaRagnarok got his first top five of the contest by tying AlecTravelyan for the top pick - this is AlecTravelyan's second top 5 of the contest. Ayvuir had the third best prediction for his fourth top five of the contest. Tnote gets his third top 5 of the contest (21st overall), and Dekar TKB gets his 2nd of the contest.

Complete Match Ranking:

Once again, our boring leaders don't budge. DSRage is now celebrating his 14th consecutive day in first, which leaves him behind only Bananaquest, creativename, and Dilated Chemist for longest streak. On the extended leaderboard, Aprosenf makes it back up into 10th place after spending a couple days out of the top 10.

I chickened out and took MC in a last minute bracket change (I messed up I admit it, I calculated Armageddon to be released after the match took place) but what ticked me off was off little discussion this match got. This is like Revolver Ocelot vs Pac-Man all over again. Win or lose, Sub-Zero has impressed me and hopefully he becomes a permanent character in these contests.

Match #31 Results
Alucard 35.60%
Auron 64.40%

Auron handed Alucard his biggest loss since he faced Sephiroth in 2003, easily outdoing Ganon's numbers from two years ago. The consensus was Auron with 59.69% and the average score was 44.86. There were 127 predictions for Auron and 2 predictions for Alucard.

Best Five Picks:
1) alpha door - Auron 64.12% (+49.72)
2) Radix - Auron 64.11% (+49.71)
3) War13104 - Auron 63.84% (+49.44)
4) ertyu001 - Auron 65.00% (+49.40)
4) Shivan Reincarnated - Auron 65.00% (+49.40)
4) Inviso - Auron 65.00% (+49.40)

Alpha door gets today's top pick, for his third top 5 of the contest and 10th overall. Radix misses out by .01 points and has to settle for second instead, his first top 5 of the contest. War gets third for his second top 5 of the contest. In fourth we have a three way tie between Ertyu, Inviso, and Shivan Reincarnated. All three picked Auron with 65%. This is the second top five of the contest for both Ertyu and Shivan Reincarnated, and the first for Inviso.

Complete Match Ranking:

3) Karma Hunter - 1417.63
4) Kaxon - 1417.40
5) Draco1214 - 1415.31

We finally have a change on the leaderboard, but it's not quite what I was hoping for - Karma Hunter moves up to third, bumping Kaxon down to fourth! The other positions remain unchanged, but it looks like we may see a bigger shakeup tomorrow.
