I'm 16th right now and I haven't been even close in this contest, I think.

You're in a clique with Vlado and Inviso. That's the nerdy group in the school cafeteria that sits away from everybody else gossiping about the cool kids in whispers, except instead of whispers, it's AIM, and instead of the school cafeteria, it's the board 8 community. -- Shake

My first reaction when I saw the results was "damn, I overshot". Then I remembered the KH day vote, and I started thinking I might have undershot. This could be interesting...

Stop jinxing our stuff! =P

How the heck am I still somehow in the running for this, I'm doing worse than pretty much any contest before.....

Oh and that's the last time I listen to you Kaxon =P

C'mon Sora, stay low! I'm surprised he stayed this low through the night. Now, if he can keep it this way through the after-school vote, I'm looking golden. I won't gain any places, but I'll chop down the huge gap between the top 4 and me, and put some space between me and 6-11.

Match #43 Results
Gordon Freeman 36.07%
Sora 63.93%

Sadly, Gordon wasn't able to keep Sora below 60% today, but he did perform pretty respectably in the first second round match of his career. Finally Gordon can hold his head high - he fought hard and maintained his dignity! The consensus was Sora with 65.98% and the average score was 45.61. All 116 people took Sora.

Best Five Picks:
1) ActJef1077 - Sora 63.98% (+49.95)
2) Weird Kirby Dude11 - Sora 64.00% (+49.93)
2) kawaiifan - Sora 64.00% (+49.93)
4) The Real Truth - Sora 64.02% (+49.91)
5) Menji76 - Sora 64.20% (+49.73)

ActJef is today's top predictor - this is his third top prediction of the contest, and 5th top 5. Weird Kirby Dude and kawaiifan, the Oracle Queen, tie for second - this is Wierd Kirby Dude's third top 5 of the contest, and kawaiifan's first. The Real Truth gets fourth, and Menji gets fifth.

Complete Match Ranking:

Current Leaderboard:
1) cyko - 1952.59
2) DSRage - 1946.86
3) Karma Hunter - 1944.45
4) Kaxon - 1944.04
5) Salient - 1940.02

Cyko hangs on to the lead for the second day in a row - although his Sora prediction was overly aggressive, it was less aggressive than Karma Hunter's, so he stays well ahead in first place. DSRage moves up to second, passing Karma Hunter. Karma Hunter drops to third, narrowly ahead of Kaxon, who stays in fourth. Salient takes fifth from Aprosenf - he's been slowly working his way up all contest, and today it finally pays off.

5) Team Romanian Potato Soup - 97.90 (The n00b Avenger: +49.24 / GrapefruitKing: +48.66)

Team SPO*N (Weird Kirby Dude and ActJef) has a monster day, scoring a combined 99.88 points with the first and second highest individual scores of the day. Team Coinflip gets the second best score of the day. Team Predestined Divination is third, and is closesly followed by Team The Spirit of Truth, who make a recovery from yesterday's bad scores. Team Romanian Potato Soup gets the fifth best score.

Complete Team Match Ranking:

Team Leaderboard:
1) Team We Used To Be Good? (Kaxon / King Morgoth) - 3879.13
2) Team The Spirit of Truth (Draco1214 / Rodri316) - 3876.04
3) Team mvp's (ps2rulezzz / basmeyer42) - 3872.28
4) Team Unfinished FFP (Ed Bellis / Karma Hunter) - 3871.90
5) Team Accident (MegatokyoEd / Rufus Shinra 18) - 3861.86

Team We Used To Be Good? retakes the team lead! Although Kaxon's and King Morgoth's predictions weren't the best, they were enough to pass Team Unfinished FFP. Karma Hunter had one Ed Bellis of a prediction, and so did Ed Bellis, causing them to drop down to fourth place. The Spirit of Truth moves up one spot to second and Team mvp's moves up to third, cracking into the once-unbeatable looking top 3. Team Accident remains in fifth place.

Match #44 Results
Ryu (Street Fighter) 41.96%
Mega Man 58.04%

Against the odds, the street fighter managed to continue his streak of never getting less than 40% of the vote. Mega Man performed worse against Ryu than Bowser did last year, putting his chances against Snake into serious doubt. 116 people predicted Mega Man would win the match, and 1 person (accidentally) picked Ryu. The consensus was Mega Man with 62.49% and the average score was 45.02.

Best Five Picks:
1) Aprosenf - Mega Man 57.97% (+49.93)
2) Lagoona - Mega Man 57.90% (+49.86)
3) steve illumina - Mega Man 57.78% (+49.74)
4) DarkLink89 - Mega Man 58.34% (+49.70)
5) King_Zog - Mega Man 58.36% (+49.68)

Aprosenf continues his hot streak with the best overall prediction today! This is his third top 5 of the contest. Lagoona gets the second best prediction and hot-or-cold steve illumina has the third best prediction - this is the 3rd top 5 this contest for both of them. DarkLink89 gets fourth just three days after his perfect prediction, and King_Zog gets fifth. This is the 4th top 5 of the contest for both DarkLink and King_Zog.

Complete Match Ranking:

Current Leaderboard:
1) cyko - 1997.85
2) Kaxon - 1989.32
3) Aprosenf - 1988.84
4) Karma Hunter - 1988.44
5) Salient - 1987.33

The big news of the day is DSRage's unfortunate mistake, which cost him 21.08 points and drops him down from 2nd place to 23rd. Despite the costly mistake, he still outranks 142 other competitors, including 67 who have predicted every match! Hopefully we'll see him make a comeback in the final stages of the contest.

In other leaderboard news, cyko remains in first and extends his lead to eight and a half points. Kaxon moves up to second place, the highest he's been since the penultimate day of SC2k4 (a span of 173 matches). Aprosenf also climbs three spots to third, with his excellent prediction for the day. Karma Hunter drops one spot to fourth, and Salient hangs on to fifth place despite a charge from Draco (who moved up 4 spots to 6th).

1) Team Random - 97.41 (XIII is cool: +48.48 / Giggsalot: +48.93)

5) Team Romanian Potato Soup - 95.38 (The n00b Avenger: +48.73 / GrapefruitKing: +46.65)

Today's top scoring team is Team Random, with XIII is cool and Giggsalot. Team The Spirit of Truth has the second best score, pushing them back up to the top of the team leaderboard. Team AAA (Aprosenf/Ayvuir) gets the third best score, followed by Team Rocket (Ringworm/BZer0) and Team Romanian Potato Soup (n00b Avenger/GrapefruitKing).

Complete Team Match Ranking:

4) Team mvp's (ps2rulezzz / basmeyer42) - 3964.03
5) Team Accident (MegatokyoEd / Rufus Shinra 18) - 3956.60

We have two flipflops on the team leaderboard - The Spirit of Truth retakes first, swapping places with Team We Used To Be Good? in second, and Team Unfinished FFP trades places with Team mvp's, moving back up from fourth to third. Team Accident hangs on to fifth place.

Match #45 Results
Sonic the Hedgehog 52.09%
Vincent Valentine 47.91%

Vincent comes closer to Sonic than any non-noble niner has managed yet, but still loses in a match that was never really in doubt once the voting started. The consensus was Sonic with 54.13% and the average score was 46.90. 110 people picked Sonic to win the match and 10 picked Vincent.

Best Five Picks:
1) Janus5000 - Sonic the Hedgehog 52.02% (+49.93)
2) Lopen - Sonic the Hedgehog 52.01% (+49.92)
3) BeTheMan - Sonic the Hedgehog 52.00% (+49.91)
3) Alanna82 - Sonic the Hedgehog 52.00% (+49.91)
5) ActJef1077 - Sonic the Hedgehog 51.99% (+49.90)

Janus gets another top prediction - his second of the contest, and his fourth top 5. The top 5 are all extremely close to each other today - the fifth best prediction is only 0.03 points below the best. Hit or miss Lopen hits this one on the head with the second best prediction, his third of the contest. BeTheMan and Alanna tie for third - this is the third top 5 of the contest for each of them. ActJef gets the fifth best prediction, his 6th top 5 of the contest.

Do I have the highest effeciency rating of anyone who has predicted, say, 100 or more matches? Because I'm 10th in top 5s despite missing 2005s 97 matches.

You should make one of those leaderboards under records for efficiency.

Database has been fixed, but this is weird since the final update was picked up by creative's database at :01:11 and we (in theory) run the script at :02:00. And I don't think it's a clock problem since we're on the same server. Oh well, Kaxon's side of the deal >_>

Maybe at some point but not now, it would be too heavy on the server with the current code and a pain to pull off. Could possibly get done next Winter though...

Was looking through my predictions and saw bowser with 57%... I freaked out at first until I realized that was my first round pick... phew.

That was too close. You were almost a Jill sandwich.

Aw, I was sort of hoping my Kirby pick would count, even though it technically late. : (

Figured it was worth a shot to beg.

Actually, we get the results at 0:01, and we update the rankings at 0:02. =P

Sorry... it would have counted if it had been 3 seconds earlier, but we just can't take predictions after the start of the match.
