Yep, creative is definitely making a case for himself as best Oracler of all time, but the competition is pretty fierce. It'd be hard to give it to him right now with kawaii there the whole way along, too.

Right now my all time rankings would be:
1. kawaii
2. Morgoth
3. Xuxon
4. creative
...but those four are very close. #5's probably n00b Avenger, or maybe Camden. It all depends how this contest finishes!

My goal is to break the record for most Top 5's by the end of this contest. Pretty much the only thing I'm in the run of doing.

, creative is definitely making a case for himself as best Oracler of all time

I always thought he was one of the best before this year. When I realized he never won a contest I was shocked. This man is easily the one most overdue for a win. If I were kawaiifan I'd just let him have it. You already have a win dammit. Come on you know what's right >_> <_<

Whenever I compare my pick to creative's afterwards it's always like, barely different. But when it is different it's usually better. I'm like, damn you... how can you have such safe sense.

Aw #%$*. Looks like 32 is some sort of jinx for me or something.

My predictions for this match:
Auron - 29.75%
Sandbag - 21.65%
Sonic the Hedgehog - 30.25%
Sub-Zero - 18.35%

And I looked up kawaii's:
Auron - 30.00%
Sandbag - 21.00%
Sonic the Hedgehog - 30.00%
Sub-Zero - 19.00%

So she's +.25, +.65, +.25, and +.65, which means she'll be up 1.8/4=.45 points on me from this match. Which means she'll take first with a 0.27 point lead on me after this match.

Ironically, I had no idea about the 31 consecutive day thing until after Kax posted it, after predictions for this match were already locked down. Freaky coincidence.

Thanks for the nice comments :) Makes me feel a bit better about my impending fall.

This best predictors ever stuff reminds me - Kaxon and Morgoth, I think I asked about before, but is there somewhere on the Oracle site where you show a list of points-above-average rankings?

It's not actually consecutive, it's just total for the contest. So you could still exceed 31! For consecutive days in the lead, you had 25 in 2005 and 24 this time... the third and fourth highest numbers ever.

Awesome, I've almost made Kaxons best ever list. I need to score some more top fives to solidify my position, I just looked at my stats page and my top five number doesn't play well with the others.

*looks at the poll

Well, I'm not getting one today. Wow. Did Auron guest star in another game or something? I thought he would pull a small win out but I didn't expect anything close to this.

I was writing an exam this morning (SOA - Exam C if anyone wants to know), hopefully I have more time to fix/add stuff over the next few weeks. It's already being done on the individual pages so I think it could be added to the records without too much trouble. Hopefully.

That would be nice Morgoth :) No rush of course.

Ah cool, so no jinx then :) (well, *if* I can manage to get back to 1st that is...otherwise the 31 would still be jinxed for me)

I hope that this 0.27 points is easier for me to overcome than much smaller amounts were for poor kawaii.

Sorry for the late update, I had to finish filling out my ballot for tomorrow. Voting for city council is hard!

Match # 47 Results
Auron 34.64%
Sonic the Hedgehog 29.69%
Sub-Zero 20.52%
Sandbag 15.15%

lawl joke characters. Sandbag gets beaten like a... sandbag... today and finishes well behind Sub-Zero. Meanwhile Auron manhandled Sonic, beating him by just under a 5% margin. Auron was actually slightly favored by the people toward the top of the standings (not overall), but the match between them was expected to be close. Why are Sonic characters so weak in this format?

Consensus:
Auron - 29.59%
Sandbag - 21.43%
Sonic the Hedgehog - 30.53%
Sub-Zero - 18.51%

Best Five Picks:
1) Gaddswell - Auron 33.14% - Sandbag 17.74% - Sonic 29.79% - Sub-Zero 19.33% (+48.65)
2) Claude00 - Auron 33.20% - Sandbag 14.92% - Sonic 28.38% - Sub-Zero 23.50% (+48.50)
3) Team Rocket Elite - Auron 32.00% - Sandbag 19.00% - Sonic 28.50% - Sub-Zero 20.50% (+48.07)
4) _Harmonica_ - Auron 32.00% - Sandbag 18.00% - Sonic 31.00% - Sub-Zero 19.00% (+47.92)
5) KleenexTissue50 - Auron 30.33% - Sandbag 18.35% - Sonic 29.58% - Sub-Zero 21.74% (+47.79)

Gaddswell has the top pick today - this is his fourth top 5, and he only needs a second place now to have one of each. Claude00 gets second for his first ever Oracle top 5. TRE is third, followed by Harmonica and Kleenex.

Complete Match Ranking:

Current Leaderboard:
1) kawaiifan - 2217.72
2) creativename - 2217.45
3) PeaceOut64 - 2215.54
4) Camden - 2214.55
5) The n00b Avenger - 2214.29

Kawaii takes the lead! Showing once again why she's the Oracle Queen, the most consistent Oracle competitor of all is finally able to overtake creativename. Now if only we could get her to post her own predictions ;).

Creativename is down to second now, while no one else in the top 13 budged, as if the kawaii/creative duel was enough excitement for one day.

Top Team Scores:
1) Battle with Gilgamesh = JENOVA - 95.21 (Janus5000: +47.42 / KleenexTissue50: +47.79)
2) Carvey Elite imho - 94.89 (Team Rocket Elite: +48.07 / Xcarvengerx: +46.82)

5) We Used To Be Good? - 93.99 (Kaxon: +46.67 / King Morgoth: +47.32)

Team Battle with Gilgamesh = J-E-N-O-V-A keep chugging along, racking up their 5th top 5 today thanks to Kleenex's 5th place pick and Janus's tie for 8th. Team Carvey Elite imho gets second for their 7th top 5 of the contest. Team Prescrire (Radix and WalrusJump) is third, followed by Team Forclusion (they've been showing up this year, what with the current economic climate... and I can't resist making a lame joke every time they do!), and somehow Team We Used To Be Good? snatches fifth.

Complete Team Match Ranking:

5) Team We Used To Be Good? (Kaxon / King Morgoth) - 4415.34

Team Mother Cat's triumph was short lived, as Team Used To has retaken fifth place today. The battle for fifth looks to be one of the more interesting races in the team standings right now (along with the battle for second) with Team 31 looking pretty unstoppable at the moment.

Sorry for the late update, I was too excited about election stuff last night to get around to it.

Match # 48 Results
Sephiroth 41.53%
Kratos (God of War) 24.25%
Tifa Lockheart 20.06%
Jill Valentine 14.16%

In a striking contrast from the US election taking place on the same day, the scary white-haired villain won this vote by a wide margin. In this case, that's exactly what we expected.

Consensus:
Jill Valentine - 15.58%
Kratos (God of War) - 24.49%
Sephiroth - 39.57%
Tifa Lockheart - 20.46%

Best Five Picks:
1) WalrusJump - Jill Valentine 15.16% - Kratos (GoW) 23.42% - Sephiroth 41.37% - Tifa 20.05% (+49.50)
2) Ghost Cyborg - Jill Valentine 14.50% - Kratos (GoW) 24.50% - Sephiroth 40.50% - Tifa 20.50% (+49.48)
3) meche313 - Jill Valentine 14.50% - Kratos (GoW) 22.50% - Sephiroth 42.00% - Tifa 20.00% (+49.34)
4) Heroic Viktor - Jill Valentine 15.00% - Kratos (GoW) 25.00% - Sephiroth 40.00% - Tifa 20.00% (+49.20)
4) kawaiifan - Jill Valentine 15.00% - Kratos (GoW) 25.00% - Sephiroth 40.00% - Tifa 20.00% (+49.20)
4) AmazingKirby - Jill Valentine 15.00% - Kratos (GoW) 25.00% - Sephiroth 40.00% - Tifa 20.00% (+49.20)

High scoring top 5 today, the scores ranged from 49.5 to 49.2. WalrusJump takes first for his third top 5 of the contest. Ghost Cyborg gets second, followed by Happyist meche in third. Heroic Viktor, current leader kawaiifan, and AmazingKirby tie for fourth. Coincidentally, it's the 26th lifetime top 5 for both kawaiifan and Heroic Viktor.

3) PeaceOut64 - 2264.44
4) Camden - 2263.66
5) The n00b Avenger - 2263.23

No change in the top of the standings today - everyone in the top 5 did well, but kawaiifan expanded her lead a little bit today.

5) Amazingly Oblivious - 97.73 (AmazingKirby: +49.20 / DpObliVion: +48.53)

The Happy Happyists pick up the top score today, their 16th, as they try to keep pace with team 31. Team Prescrire (WalrusJump and Radix) get second thanks to WalrusJump's top pick, and Team Kirby gets third. Overall leader Team 31 keeps the pressure on with a 4th place score and Team Amazingly Oblivious gets their 9th top 5 in 5th.

Match # 50 Results
Mario 32.73%
Mega Man X 29.44%
Liquid Snake 21.92%
Luigi 15.91%

For once we overestimated the effects of SFF - while Mario and Mega Man X were close in the predictions, Mario won the match easily, and Liquid Snake also did worse than expected. Sadly, the voters still haven't realized that Luigi is the better Mario brother.

Consensus:
Liquid Snake - 23.40%
Luigi - 16.35%
Mario - 30.52%
Mega Man X - 30.02%

Best Five Picks:
1) Xuxon - Liquid Snake 21.00% - Luigi 16.50% - Mario 32.50% - Mega Man X 30.00% (+49.42)
2) Yesmar - Liquid Snake 20.42% - Luigi 16.14% - Mario 33.89% - Mega Man X 29.55% (+49.25)

Many-time champion Xuxon has another top pick to add to his collection. Yesmar gets 2nd place for the 2nd day in a row, which is kinda cool. Justin_Crossing gets his first-ever Oracle top 5, tying with DpOblivion for third, while andy takes fifth.

For Team Predestined Divination and Palace of Wisdom, it's also their second in a row, with the two switching spots from yesterday.

So 32 now, no jinx after all! Niiice. That's a bit of a relief.

Also I'm #15 in the bracket stats lists, which is surprising but a nice bonus to Oracle #1. And I'm not real worried about anything in my contest bracket until the Cloud match, which I'll get wrong since I have Yoshi there. (though I guess WCC could beat out Mega Man before that, but I doubt that would affect the bracket stats leader list much)

But what's really killer for my bracket is a simple mistake that I didn't even notice I had until a few days ago - I have Snake>Cloud in the semifinal! I just didn't pay enough attention while reviewing/re-checking my bracket while I was making it, as I made it pretty quick only went back over it about once. So I just didn't really realize quite what I had there, I guess. Definitely wasn't meaning to take a massive upset like that there. Oh well.

I just hope I can keep doing well in the Oracle. Hoping to at least finish no lower than #2 this year. Winning would be great, but no shame in being second to kawaii :) Falling lower than that though would hurt.

Here's a modified spreadsheet from one that that King Morgoth made a long time ago:
http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/excel/Morgoth's%20X-Stats.xls

You can use Excel Solver to work backwards from match results to generate x-stats using Excel Solver with it.

If there's any confusion about how to use it, let me know. (although Morgoth is the one who knows about the actual mechanics - I don't know anything about the formulas etc. it uses)

Match # 51 Results
Samus Aran 34.84%
Vincent Valentine 30.38%
Gordon Freeman 17.82%
Ganondorf 16.96%

Lawl Ganon. For a guy who's supposedly near-elite, Ganon's suffered some major humiliations in his career... first his 88/12 loss to Link in 2004, and now losing to Gordon Freeman. I love it!

Consensus:
Ganondorf - 19.47%
Gordon Freeman - 17.16%
Samus Aran - 33.12%
Vincent Valentine - 30.40%

Best Five Picks:
1) red sox 777 - Ganondorf 17.00% - Gordon Freeman 18.00% - Samus 34.00% - Vincent 31.00% (+49.58)
2) Lopen - Ganondorf 16.45% - Gordon Freeman 19.00% - Samus 34.41% - Vincent 30.14% (+49.41)
3) th3l3fty - Ganondorf 17.77% - Gordon Freeman 16.54% - Samus 34.56% - Vincent 31.13% (+49.22)
4) ShatteredElysium - Ganondorf 18.50% - Gordon Freeman 17.50% - Samus 33.50% - Vincent 30.50% (+49.17)
4) Ness26 - Ganondorf 18.00% - Gordon Freeman 17.00% - Samus 34.00% - Vincent 31.00% (+49.17)

Red sox 777 gets the top score, and one of the ten best scores of the contest so far. He and 2nd place Lopen both correctly called Gordon beating Ganon. L3fty gets third, while ShatteredElysium and Ness tie for fourth.

Hmm, my bracket's looking as bad as ever, but with this result it's at least on life support rather than completely dead. I'd need hell of a lot of luck to win but it's not quite at the point where I can rule it out completely. And if the only important thing I miss is Seph > Sonic next round, I could still make the top 10 if my other picks pan out.

For the oracle, I'm glad I raised Pika and lowered L, though I'm still not sure if my high Crono pick is in my favor. Probably not. Looks like another stall, and with only 11 matches left, I can't really afford those anymore.

Pikachu 27.00%
L-Block 24.40%
Alucard 17.43%

The defending champion goes out in the third round, thanks to the yellow rat and the real Hero of Time. Apparently Alucard's plan also involves biding his time for another year, since he got last here.

Consensus:
Alucard - 18.44%
Crono - 31.38%
L-Block - 27.53%
Pikachu - 22.92%

Team SPO*N (Weird Kirby Dude and ActJef) gets first today - this is their 26th total top 5, fifth one this contest. Team Don't Walk Around With Your Weiner Hanging Out (Lagoona and Seginustemple) gets their 3rd top five with Seginus's great prediction. Mentalmike's pick was good enough to get 3rd in teams by himself. The defending champs creative and Ngamer get 4th, and Pesadilla iberica (down to linkhatesganon after Scorpion dropped out) gets 5th.

Solid Snake 37.59%
Weighted Companion Cube 23.88%
Mega Man 23.72%
Zero 14.81%

L-Block may have been eliminated yesterday, but the joke characters aren't done yet! Weighted Companion Cube is able to squeak by Mega Man today, who was being weighted down by his companion Zero. Predictions were pretty much right on today.

Solid Snake - 35.24%
Weighted Companion Cube - 23.96%
Zero - 15.32%

Best Five Picks:

Today's top 5 was very high scoring. Master Moltar had the best pick with a 49.66. smitelf got second, Ngamer third, and Leebo was fourth. Yoblazer taking fifth makes this a very analysis crew dominated top 5.

Today may very well knock me off of the leaderboard. I couldn't decide who was going to take second so I lumped them all in at 19, figuring I'd take a somewhat small hit on all of them instead of risking something big on one of them. I'm glad I didn't put faith in one of them, too, because it probably would have been Sora.

I couldn't decide who was going to take second so I lumped them all in at 19, figuring I'd take a somewhat small hit on all of them instead of risking something big on one of them. I'm glad I didn't put faith in one of them, too, because it probably would have been Sora.

That's not far off the general consensus. I don't know what the other people in the top 6 had though.

I see a mistake in today's Team Match Results. oneills1 was given 0.00, instead of giving his team whatever the team is supposed to get when someone doesn't submit a score, so that team only got 46.51 points when everyone else got at least in the 80s. The team dropped 9 spots in the overall rankings as a result.

Match # 54 Results
Cloud Strife 44.72%
Mewtwo 23.16%
Squall Leonhart 16.39%
Sora 15.74%

Does this contest make any sense? Mewtwo turns in the kind of performance we would have expected before his pathetic round 2 showing. Cloud did extremely well in this SFFtastic match, as you might expect, while Squall and Sora struggled.

Consensus:
Cloud Strife - 42.69%
Mewtwo - 18.99%
Sora - 19.23%
Squall Leonhart - 19.29%

Best Five Picks:
1) Redtooth - Cloud Strife 43.00% - Mewtwo 25.00% - Sora 16.00% - Squall 16.00% (+48.94)
2) Ed Bellis - Cloud Strife 45.00% - Mewtwo 21.00% - Sora 18.00% - Squall 16.00% (+48.72)
3) Justin_Crossing - Cloud Strife 45.00% - Mewtwo 20.50% - Sora 16.00% - Squall 18.50% (+48.67)
4) Gaddswell - Cloud Strife 46.21% - Mewtwo 19.36% - Sora 17.89% - Squall 16.54% (+48.10)
5) andylt - Cloud Strife 45.50% - Mewtwo 19.50% - Sora 19.00% - Squall 16.00% (+47.97)

Redtooth gets his third #1 pick of the contest, which is pretty impressive with the number of people we have in this thing. Bed Ellis takes second today, followed by Justin_Crossing, Gaddswell (back on top after missing a pick yesterday), and andy.

Current Leaderboard:
1) creativename - 2555.39
2) kawaiifan - 2554.63
3) The n00b Avenger - 2553.30
4) Camden - 2552.37
5) Xuxon - 2552.09

Creativename continues slowly widening his lead over kawaiifan, now it's up to .76 points. Meanwhile Camden moves up to fourth and Xuxon returns to the leaderboard by overtaking PeaceOut, bringing the number of former champions on the leaderboard up to 3. This is my pick for the most stacked leaderboard in the history of the Oracle Challenge.

Top Team Scores:
1) ted crunkensteinsience and the AUGHs II: curse of the black pearl - 95.38 (transience: +46.66 / Ed Bellis: +48.72)
2) Muffin Hacks - 95.34 (Ness26: +0.00 / Redtooth: +48.94)
3) Mother Cat is a Landmine - 94.96 (Xuxon: +47.56 / GrapefruitKing: +47.40)
4) Uncle Floaty's Wild Balloon Ride V2 - 94.81 (KingBartz: +46.14 / Justin_Crossing: +48.67)
5) Predestined Divination - 94.67 (creativename: +46.81 / Ngamer64: +47.86)

Ted crunkensteinsience gets another top score today, his (their) second one of the contest. Mr. Crunkenstein himself (Eddy Bellis) leads the way while tedsience supplies a decent second pick. Team Muffin Hacks gets second, and Team Mother Cat gets third (their 17th time in the top 5 this year). Uncle Floaty's Wild Balloon Ride V2 (KingBartz and Justin_Crossing) grab their 5th top 5 of the year while Team Predestined Divination gets their 16th.

Team Leaderboard:
1) Team 31 (PeaceOut64 / The n00b Avenger) - 5105.30

5) Team Mother Cat is a Landmine (Xuxon / GrapefruitKing) - 5090.81

No change in the team top 5. After I fixed oneills's prediction (he left off a percent sign for Sora), Team Froussard moves up one spot to 10th and passes Team SPO*N.

This is my pick for the most stacked leaderboard in the history of the Oracle Challenge.

Whoopty-doo, I have to try and win the Oracle title coming down the stretch against the most stacked leaderboard of all friggin' time.

How exciting >_> Jeez.

I'm finally getting some slim breathing room against kawaii...yet now n00b is only 2 points back of me, and Camden, Xuxon, and PeaceOut are all only just over 3 points back of me. And guys like that could fairly easily make up 1 points in a single match on me. Hell, I just checked and the guy below them, yoblazer, just did!

Gotta be happy with being in 1st right now...but man, facing this competition is going to be ridiculous.
