Samus Aran 50.50%
Tifa Lockhart 49.50%
In the biggest surprise of the contest so far, Tifa managed to limit Samus to just 50.5% of the vote. In addition, she held a lead over Samus for two and a half hours during the night, becoming only the second non-noble nine character to hold a sustained lead over a noble niner (and it should be noted that Ryu never would have managed it if his poll had started at 9pm like Tifa's did). The average score was 42.99 and the consensus was Samus with 57.41%. 102 out of 103 predictors overshot Samus's margin of victory. The lone exception was IhatethisCPU, who's been making joke predictions all contest and picked Tifa to win. He tied for 60th place with the 6 people who predicted Samus with 58%: ps2rulezzz, kawaiifan, Kaxon, Black Turtle, yoblazer, and creativename. Pretty illustrious company for a joke prediction to find itself in.

The best pick of the day belongs to former champion Dilated Chemist! He sent his predictions in by email, and I had to double check to make sure he sent it before the start of the poll, his prediction was so uncanny. (It was legitimate, and King Morgoth received the email as well). This is DC's 30th lifetime top 5, putting him third on the all-time list, one behind Rodri and Ringworm. DragonsFury gets the second best prediction, followed by Alanna, who celebrates her 25th lifetime top 5 today. King_Zog gets his sixth top 5 of the contest and TheKnightOfNee gets his second.

Steady day on the leaderboard today. Somehow cyko and Aprosenf had exactly the same position (Samus with 59.91%), so neither of them gained or lost any ground in their race for the title. We're down to six days left in the Oracle challenge, but days 59 and 60 could have a huge impact on the standings - in fact, days 61, 62, and 63 could as well.
