How good is Satai's oracle prediction looking right now?
Satai's prediction was
Big Boss 22.02%
Mario: 58.55%
Pac-Man 10.43%
Wander 9%
Actual results as of this post are
Big Boss 24.14%
Mario 56%
Pac-Man 10.45%
Wander 9.01%
But with Big Boss in free fall and Mario rapidly climbing. Pac-Man and Wander are staying pretty constant. Obviously the day vote might mess things up for her but in a match where nobody else is really doing fantastically, it's a pretty solid prediction. 15 people are at 47%+ at the minute and 45 at 46%+. Satai is at 48.73.

1) Although Meta Knight may have the "Brawl factor" right now, it'll be gone by next round. Fox easily
2) "Do a Barrel Roll!"
3) DK > Fox > Ness > Zelos
4) This contest has very little predictability!
5) more like lol all of us who refused to realize Fox was way stronger than Wario :P

With how well Big Boss is doing, I'm curious as to how The Boss will do. I doubt she could match Tails, but... who knows?

Such weird things have happened so far that Zelda could somehow SFF Tails and The Boss could get 3rd.
What SFF? Zelda and Tails are both furries, of course.

Oracle Challenge - Today's prediction:~ Big Boss 16.11% - Mario 61.29% - Pac 16.19% - Wanfodder 6.41% ~ Status: *sigh*

I've learned getting the right order doesn't guarantee you points in this contest, as I did awful last match with the right order.

1) Who takes second next round? Fox or Meta-Knight?
Fox. And I doubt that there is a board8er that hates Fox as much as me
2) "Do a Barrel Roll!" vs "You'll never defeat ANDROSS!" ?
**** SF 64. Such and overrated game...
3) 4-way match of the day : Fox vs Ness vs DK vs Zelos. Who do you take for 1st and 2nd?
You like Fox, don't you? Bloody Fox > DK.
4) Oracle question: how tough is it to predict this contest, regardless of the scores.
Whoever I take for 2nd spot, never do. Whenever it's an upset or just logic, it never happens.
5) lol Wario. Alright, that's not a question but I can't stand him =P
Lol you. Wario is my 9th favourite contestants, and 4th Nintendo character (The ones that are better for me are exactly my top 3: Bowser, Yoshi and Zelda). Wario is very funny!

How good is Satai's oracle prediction looking right now?
Satai's prediction was
Big Boss 22.02%
Mario: 58.55%
Pac-Man 10.43%
Wander 9%
This is the first time I actually see a prediction that has a decent shot at costing us. Litterally. =P
This is going to be close. We're talking Morgoth might have to start his "The hunt for a perfect prediction" column tonight close.

1) Fox
2) "Do a Barrel Roll!"
3) Fox > DK
4) It's easy to either: get first right and switch 2nd and 3rd, or switch 1st and 2nd. A good chunk of my bracket is either yellow pairs or green/red pairs.
5) I was sad because I saw a blue Mustang with a license plate that said CFALCN yesterday. (6 letter limit in TX)

1) Who takes second next round? Fox or Meta-Knight?
Fox, easily.
2) "Do a Barrel Roll!" vs "You'll never defeat ANDROSS!" ?
Neither, but I've used "Do a Barrel Roll!"
3) 4-way match of the day : Fox vs Ness vs DK vs Zelos. Who do you take for 1st and 2nd?
I'll take DK first, Fox second, Zelos third, and Ness bringing up the rear.

It's brutal. I love it.

1) Who takes second next round? Fox or Meta-Knight?
Fox, his performance was a lot more impressive, I mean, he was basically gaining percentage ALL day. Meta-Knight shouldn't be close, really.
2) "Do a Barrel Roll!" vs "You'll never defeat ANDROSS!" ?
Both are awesome, but who doesn't like barrel-rollin'?
3) 4-way match of the day : Fox vs Ness vs DK vs Zelos. Who do you take for 1st and 2nd?
As others have already say, wtf at Zelos on this match. Fox > DK for me.
4) Oracle question: how tough is it to predict this contest, regardless of the scores.
Is much, much harder. It feels so bad being so off everyday, when you are used to have a few great matches on the 1v1 matches, while so far I can't even say I've got a solid prediction...
5) lol Wario. Alright, that's not a question but I can't stand him =P

3) Fox then Ness
4) Well, most people seem to be doing OK. Last 4 days or so I've dropped around 50 spots :)
5) Same. Overrated. By me at least.

Match # 11 Results
Mario 57.91%
Big Boss 23.00%
Pac-Man 10.11%
Wander 8.99%
Poor Pac-Man! The Namco icon barely managed to stay above 10% thanks to Mario, but he still wasn't the most pathetic character in the poll, since Wander was there to claim that honor with the second worst performance of the contest so far. Mario performed as expected, but Big Boss surprised by taking almost a quarter of the vote. 79 people had Big Boss second while 61 had Pac-Man. The consensus predictions were Big Boss 17.18%, Mario 58.00%, Pac-Man 16.91%, Wander 8.02%.
Best Five Picks:
1) satai_delenn - Big Boss 22.02% - Mario 58.55% - Pac-Man 10.43% - Wander 9.00% (+49.51)
2) Sephirot1 Returns - Big Boss 24.00% - Mario 58.46% - Pac-Man 10.00% - Wander 7.54% (+49.22)
3) Applekidjosh - Big Boss 22.00% - Mario 59.00% - Pac-Man 12.00% - Wander 7.00% (+48.50)
4) Tomoyo - Big Boss 20.35% - Mario 56.78% - Pac-Man 13.78% - Wander 9.09% (+48.11)
5) Forceful Dragon - Big Boss 20.73% - Mario 56.22% - Pac-Man 13.34% - Wander 9.71% (+48.02)
Today brings us the best prediction of the contest so far, by satai_delenn! Satai is the first person to break 49.5 points this year. Sephirot1 Returns had a great prediction as well, his 49.22 points being the fifth best of the contest so far. Applekidjosh is third, getting his first top 5 of the contest and seventh overall. Newcomer Tomoyo gets his first top 5 ever with a fourth place prediction, while Forceful Dragon gets his third top 5, first this contest.
Complete Match Ranking:
http://www.oraclechallenge.com/archives.php?contest=SC2k7&type=match&match=11
Current Leaderboard:
1) The n00b Avenger - 511.63
2) King Morgoth - 511.26
3) Haste2 - 509.90
4) Master Moltar - 509.66
5) supdawg - 509.49
The race is getting tight! King Morgoth closes to 0.37 points behind The n00b Avenger today. n00b Avenger has been in first for the last 6 days in a row, more than half the contest so far. Haste2, Master Moltar, and supdawg all move up one spot to third, fourth, and fifth places, bumping MegatokyoEd off the leaderboard for the moment. It's a very close race between those three as only 0.41 points separates them.

Can't believe KM went to bed without polling us on who will finish second in this one! And here I wanted to go 0/3...
Shame though because this is such an interesting, unprecedented situation. Sure, PW's got a lead over 1200 and it's still growing, and we have no reason to think Bomberman's a day vote stud, but we DO know that unlike in past matches we've got a complete Day Vote dud leading the charge, and so there's going to be a ton of votes to go around. And surely those votes aren't going to be cast for Crash... right?
Exciting stuff!

Morgoth's Quickie Quick Questions! - Contest Day 11
From popular request
1) 12 hours in, the 1100 votes barrier seems to hold. Bomberman didn't do great with the morning vote, can he still do it? Who takes second today?!?
wakka wakka wakka wakka wakka *sobs*
Otherwise, not much to talk about, it was a pretty uneventful day.....today on the other hand....

I had no idea Phoenix would be this strong. I was under the impression that he was just another board 8 fad that no one else on the internet gave a damn about.
1) 12 hours in, the 1100 votes barrier seems to hold. Bomberman didn't do great with the morning vote, can he still do it? Who takes second today?!?
Currently 136 votes separate them. I fully expect Bomberman to take the lead, but the final hour always seems to be another, final board hour, so I imagine Phoenix will take it back similar to what Frog did against Axel.

Looking this over originally I had no doubts about Link snatching 75, but I think Cloud/Seph/Mario have proven that it's incredibly difficult to put together the kind of domination we'd expected against three separate fanbases. Granted Link's in a tier by himself, but still, I wouldn't be disappointed with a "mere" 70 tomorrow.

Match # 12 Results
Magus 30.87%
Phoenix Wright 23.96%
Bomberman 23.90%
Crash Bandicoot 21.26%
TAKE THAT! Phoenix redeems his loss to Gordon Freeman by holding out against Bomberman today. Phoenix jumped out to an early lead and built it until the morning vote started, after which Bomberman slowly chipped away at it all day. In the end Bomberman got as close as 57 votes, but Phoenix held him off to advance. 61 people had Phoenix second to Magus vs 67 who had Bomberman. 5 others had Crash, and the last 5 had various crazy combinations.
The consensus predictions were Bomberman 21.53%, Crash 15.66%, Magus 41.48%, Phoenix 21.30%.
Best Five Picks:
1) Starion - Bomberman 23.67% - Crash Bandicoot 23.88% - Magus 27.17% - Phoenix Wright 25.28% (+48.03)
2) Ayvuir - Bomberman 21.50% - Crash Bandicoot 20.00% - Magus 34.50% - Phoenix Wright 22.00% (+47.68)
3) Lady Ashe - Bomberman 24.09% - Crash Bandicoot 14.95% - Magus 33.86% - Phoenix Wright 24.09% (+47.59)
4) Eggplant Lord - Bomberman 22.00% - Crash Bandicoot 18.00% - Magus 36.00% - Phoenix Wright 24.00% (+47.41)
5) yazzy14 - Bomberman 26.93% - Crash Bandicoot 18.23% - Magus 28.66% - Phoenix Wright 26.18% (+47.37)
Starion is the best predictor of the day! This is his first top 5 this contest and 17th overall. Ayvuir takes second, followed by Lady Ashe. Eggplant Lord is fourth and yazzy gets his first ever top 5 prediction. This is the first time in the top 5 this contest for everyone except Ashe, who had one previous one.
Complete Match Ranking:

2) King Morgoth - 556.99
3) Master Moltar - 555.04
4) supdawg - 554.93
5) Haste2 - 554.53
No change in the top 2 today, but the n00b Avenger gains some breathing room. The rest of the leaderboard trades places - Moltar and supdawg move up one each while Haste2 drops from third to fifth. Just off the leaderboard, Lieutenant Kettch moves up six spots to sixth place, close behind Haste2. creativename has been hovering just off the leaderboard for a while, and he's followed by BeTheMan and charmander6000 who are tied for 8th. Here's some oracle discussion: i'm getting thoroughly crushed here, and I predicted Bidoof in single digits. Damn.
Maybe I'll do better at the next contest's oracle challenge :-[

Eh, nothing wrong with having given Bidoof a 9ish, considering pretty much everyone had him in that 10-12 range. Really no one is going to fall or rise too much based on this result, since we were all within just a few percentage points on the bottom three characters... unless someone went like Link 80, Bidoof 5.
Regarding the next match, why is everyone throwing in the towel on Zelda after seeing that match pic? Come now, it's the same picture she used to hold Snake to a mere 54%, and and also what she used in her 57% pounding of Aeris just last year. Granted, I'll agree that she looks great in her TP/Brawl form, but I don't think you should bet against the look she used to score her two most impressive (non-Samus) results.
People are too high on Vincent's pic as well, IMO. Yeah, he looks "cool," but he also looks small- Tails and Zelda do a much better job of grabbing the eye. And once a casual voter has their attention grabbed and notices that "Zelda" is an option in a poll, I think history have given us a pretty clear indication of what happens next.
